Our Story

Perch Interiors’ founder, Kathleen Fox, fell in love with design at a young age, curiously watching her mother renovate the family’s 1800’s farmhouse in rural Ohio. She learned how to spot good bones and see beyond the surface to the possibility. From her mother and other artistic family members, she gleaned the valuable knowledge of how to transform undesirable elements into coveted treasures.

These early lessons fueled the way Kathleen approached design in her own homes. She steadily gained a reputation amongst neighbors and friends for her soulful design work. Word of mouth spread quickly, and now with a growing team of like-minded designers, she finds joy in impacting lives through intentional design. Each and every day she uses her gifts to sow seeds of beauty, connection, and joy in the Charlotte area and beyond.

PRINCIPAL DESIGNER + FOUNDER
As owner and lead designer, Kathleen casts the vision for our team. She sets the tone with her design ideas and problem solving skills. Kathleen is our biggest encourager and helps all of us reach our goals, while leading with grace + strength.
Hannah Howard

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS + OPERATIONS
The one that keeps us on track, Hannah’s attention to detail and gifts of drive and efficiency move each project to the finish line with ease. She loves people + spaces that encourage hospitality.
Maggie Cathey

EDITORIAL MARKETING + DESIGN
The girl who can do it all! Maggie jumps between creative design + editorial marketing seamlessly. She creates spaces that are intentionally planned, restful and uniquely meaningful for clients to enjoy!

LEAD DESIGNER
As a lead designer, Shannon brings years of design experience to our team! She thrives in the fast paced environment with her incredible taste and quick problem solving skills. Shannon is stylish, fun, & a joy to be around!

ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
Our in-house style icon, Jenny brings color, pattern, and texture together effortlessly! She loves a mixture of old + new to create spaces that are beautiful, interesting, and functional. Jenny adds warmth and beauty to everything she touches.
Chelsea Kebrdle

STUDIO + OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
As our studio and operations coordinator, Chelsea keeps the designers up to date & organized. She leads with a kind spirit and inspires us with her impeccable style & daily Olipop. We would be a mess (literally) without her!
Mary Ellen Going

TECHNICAL DESIGNER
Our rockstar drafter, Mary Ellen is our go-to-girl for all things construction. But don’t let the seriousness of that introduction fool you… Mary Ellen keeps us on our toes with her amazing jokes and witty banter. We love the joy and enthusiasm that she brings to everything she does!

Our do-it-all girl, Emma is reliable and quick to jump in. She assists our lead designers with all areas of a project, ensuring no detail is missed. We love the energy Emma brings to our team!
